Barb's "mini MINI's"© are fun one-day
workshops taught at various locations around the country during the year. Each student
receives the same pattern, but with the volume of different wools Barb brings along,
everyone is guaranteed their own one-of-a-kind rug!
Below are sample rugs from mini MINI© workshops:
Henny Penny and Baa Baa Dorr, both 14.5 x 20, These new
patterns were offered at the Dorr Mill Store mini MINI©
workshop in Guild, New Hampshire, in March 2009. Henny Penny is also available in
two larger sizes, 21 x 34 and 31 x 50.
Baa Baa Dorr 14 x
20, hooked by Marcia Burns at Barb's mini MINI© workshop at Dorr Mill Store in Guild,
New Hampshire, in March 2009. We absolutely had a wonderful time. Love Marcia's
background and her dark blue sheep. Very neat.
Round
Top Hearts, large, 24 x 14, hooked by Barbara Carroll. I hooked this using
lots of hit'n'miss. Boy, did I learn a lot! Very much fun and NOW easy to do!
Rainbow
Cabin, 16 x 23, a very fun small project which has been designed from a Carol
Endres log house. I love her chinking which is wider than the logs. Lots of fun.
A hit 'n' miss rainbow is the NUTS!
The second Rainbow Cabin 16 X 23, was
hooked by Bonnie Applebee of Redland, California. She hooked this in a mini MINI in
Phoenix, Arizona. A very fun day. Bonnie's red logs and blue roof are neat and I LOVE
her rainbow.
Posie Pony, 13 X 25,
is a fun new small pattern which has lots of color play in the border. This
one was hooked by Barb, and is a neat treasure! Adapted from an antique rug. This was the
pattern for Barb's mini MINI© class at the New Orleans ATHA
Biennial in September 2007.
Churchill McKinney hooked the second Posie Pony, 13 X 25, above, at
the ATHA Biennial in New Orleans. We had a great time and Churchill hooked a darling rug.
Her pots are terrific, the horse is neat, neat, neat.
The third Posie Pony was hooked by Sondra Ives of Bellaire, Texas at
the ATHA Biennial in New Orleans. Love that red horse and the purple pot.
Hannah's Hen
(mat size) 13 x 22 was hooked by Carol Rahall of Mansfield, Ohio, in
Barb's mini MINI© at Gloria Ault's in November 2006. It was a
great, fun day. Carol's side border is neat, neat, neat! She was a great helper.
The second Hannah's Hen (mat size) 13 x 22 was hooked
by Heidi Apger of Lexington, Ohio. Heidi was a student in the November 2006 mini MINI©. Her color choices are fun and happy. I love her
"ground."
Don't Fence Me
In, 13 x 25, a fun little rug and one I teach in my five hour mini MINI© workshops. Think fun. I love the horse on the fence and the
tree.
The first Don't Fence Me In was hooked by Carol Rahall of Mansfield,
Ohio, in a mini MINI at Gloria Ault's. Big fun and lots of choices -- Carol's rug is
neat, old and soft. I love her fence! And Carol!
Marilyn Willmore of North Canton, Ohio, hooked the second rug at Ault's in November
2007. Isn't her red horse fun?
Julie Thornton, Shelby, OH hooked the third Don't Fence Me In, 13 X 25 also
at Ault's in November 2007. Her rust plaid fence and blue horse are big time fun.
Don't Fence Me In,
13 X 25, hooked by Heidi Apger.
Maple Sugar Hearts,
25 x 10, hooked by Barb and on the cover of American Folk Art Rug
Hooking. A simple but neat project; you can give it to your best friend as I
did. Bobbie True now has this rug. The odd gold heart is fun!
The second Maple Sugar Hearts (small) 30 x 12, was hooked by Jaci
Nicely of Glenmore, Pennsylvania. This is Jaci's first rug and she is now on to her second
rug. Great little rug. Thanks, Jaci.
The third Maple Sugar Hearts was hooked by Martha Reynolds of Dallas,
Texas. Martha's insertion of the house is SUPER! This was project was taught in
Barb's mini MINI© in Tyler,Texas, at the Nimble
Thimble. Thanks so much to everyone who came.
The fourth Maple Sugar Hearts was hooked by Cynthia Norwood in a mini
MINI© workshop in Ohio. Think fun when you hook this. A real
small treasure.
The fifth rug above was hooked by Diana Lestina, College Station, Texas, our wonderful
daughter! Diane hooked this at the mini MINI© at the Nimble
Thimble in Tyler, Texas. She hooked in the paw for her friend Laura's dog. Great idea!
The first
Maple Sugar Hearts was hooked by Sondra Ives of Bellaire, Texas, at a
mini MINI© in Tyler, Texas. Her upside-down heart is a winner, and
I love the way Sondra finished her rug.
The second Maple Sugar Hearts, 30 x 12, was hooked by Judy Stevens of
Warren, Ohio. Don't you just love her single red heart? Judy hooked this at Cynthia
Norwood's mini MINI© in January. Cold day, but lots of warm
"hearts," wools and hookers. Great rugs from everyone.
The third Maple Sugar Hearts was hooked by Charan Marquart of Tyler,
Texas. Her border and the single gold heart are very, very neat.
The fourth Maple Sugar Hearts was hooked by Janet Griffith. Janet's
patriotic heart is so wonderful. Very heart warming.
The fifth Maple Sugar Hearts was hooked by Jeannine Dougherty. Her
purple background is neat, and the way Jeannine mixed her reds in the hearts is super.
This Maple
Sugar Hearts, 30 x 12, was hooked by Sara Crippens of Scroggins, Texas. Sara
hooked the "maple leaf" in second from the bottom on the left. Sort of fun for
this pattern. Her hearts are very nifty!
