Welcome to the Woolley Fox

Barb Carroll offers rug hooking classes, retreats and supplies from her charming Laurel Highlands homestead in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Please come see us sometime.

Our site has Barb's teaching and workshop schedule, a price list for all our patterns and supplies, and of course our legendary photo collection of gorgeous primitive hooked rugs!

Many thanks to Maria Barton of Indian River, Michigan, for the great "Cool Beans" mat! Maria is cool beans herself!

I want to let everyone know that we are definitely moving forward.  The Woolley Fox is so fortunate to have Kathy Ashcom working in the office to help Robin and Wendy Love who is doing our line drawings and helping my thoughts come to reality for fun patterns.  Hugs to everyone - Barb

A fun time to be had by all on the 9th and 10th of March at the Hook-In in Athens, TN.  Click on the link below for all of the info and rug photos of a neat hooked rug auction.  The grand lady in charge is my good friend Elaine Cathcart and this will benefit the McMinn County Museum which her Mom and five other ladies started years ago.  They were truly an inspiration to everyone who said "why not in my town".  And yes - I am going!!!!!!!  The website address is: http://www.livingheritagemuseum.com/index.html?win=2012hookedrug

Some fun news - Karl and Mary Jo Gimber have written an article about their "Tavern Sign" rugs which is in the February 2012 Early American Life.  Be sure to check this out - very neat and you will see the Green Dragon Tavern rug which they designed from an old tavern sign and hooked.  A real treat - and congratulations to them both.

Rug Hooking Traditions with Magdalena Briner Eby was introduced at the Sauder Village Rug Show in August. The book is available through the Woolley Fox (for $27.95 including shipping). PA residents add $1.50 for sales tax.

I visited a great Coverlet Museum in Bedford, Pennsylvania.  I was very impressed with the knowledge of the co-founders,  Melinda and Laszlo,  as well as the wonderful coverlets.  I just know that many of you that travel here would love to visit the museum.  The link for the museum is www.coverletmuseum.org   A real treat not to be missed.

We carry  yarn, gold needles and binding tape for finishing your rugs. Please see SUPPLIES > Finishing for colors and prices.
